Keep those unruly citations in line – use RefWorks!

Citation is a pain.

You know it. We know it. There’s no point saying it’s not.

Citation, however, is the structure that lies underneath all research, tying knowledge together into an intricately layered web whereby one can explore the history of thought on a topic simply by following the citations noted in that long list of tiny type at the end of every research study.

We think that’s pretty cool.

But we also know you’re more interested in not getting points off on your bibliography than you are in the philosophical implications of citation.

SO – get your citations in line from the start by signing up for a free RefWorks account. RefWorks is an online program that creates bibliographies in all the major citation styles (APA, MLA, Chicago/Turabian, and more). You can import citations directly from all Fitchburg State library databases, organize them into folders, even share your citations with other people (very helpful if you have a group project or presentation).
